FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTION

CBD use has become increasingly popular over a previous couple of years as a natural alternative. If you’re new the CBD, then you’ve landed within the right place. Here, we’ll answer a number of the foremost pressing questions associated with CBD for explaining the difference between CBD and THC.

CBD (cannabidiol) is one in all over sixty active chemical compounds (or ‘cannabinoids’) within the marijuana plant. It’s typically the second-most large cannabinoid, behind THC.

Marijuana and hemp are two different sorts ofcannabis that come from an equivalentspecies of plant (Cannabis sativa L). Generally, CBD is found abundantly in both. However, it’s crucial to noticethat CBD is usuallyfound within the seeds and stem of marijuana – not within theflowering buds (which is that thepart that you simply smoke). The hemp plant is a completely different strain of cannabis that contains high quantities of CBD throughout (stem, buds, etc), and practically zero traces of THC. If a hemp plant contains quite0.3% THC, it’s then technically a “marijuana” plant. Most all CBD-based products come from the economic hemp plant.

In the central nervous system, THC affects the brain by binding to naturally occurring CB1 receptors. CBD is a distinctly shaped molecule that attaches outside the central nervous system to CB-2 receptors in cell and body tissues.

No, CBD won’t get you high. It is non-toxic. As we just said, THC is the molecule that binds in our brain to receptors and is responsible for marijuana’s psychoactive effects. In reality, CBD is actively antagonistic to marijuana; some work expresses its potential to stop THC molecules from binding to the receptors of the brain (hence the reason why the ‘ paranoia ‘ effects of super-powerful THC strains are often subjected to).

Many CBD products are taken orally by oil drops put under the tongue and held before swallowing for 60 seconds. As well as smoking or vaporizing CBD-rich marijuana strains like ACDC or Charlotte’s Web, topical creams and ointments are also effective.

Harlequin is probably the most popular CBD-dominant plant, other than Charlotte’s Web and ACDC. Others include CBD Mango Haze, Blueberry Glow, Sour Tsunami, Hawaiian Dream, and Darkstar, to name a few.

CBD oil is a liquid extract of cannabis which contains virtually pure CBD. It’s commonly made from hemp plant seeds (CBD hemp oil) and industrial hemp base.

CBD acts by connecting the body’s endocannabinoid system to the cannabinoid receptors. Such receptors were present in virtually every type of cell and tissue in the human body (thus the seemingly endless variety of uses of CBD).

Of course, every CBD product (whether it comes from hemp or marijuana) is perfectly legal in states where MMJ is legal. Outside of those regulated states, things tend to be a little less straightforward (including moving from legal to non-legal states). According to ProjectCBD.org, “Federal law prohibits U.S. farmers from growing hemp as a commercial crop, but selling manufactured, low-THC, industrial hemp products is permitted in the U.S ..” Technically, this ensures that as long as the CBD product (oil, liquid, topical, etc.) is derived from industrial hemp plant seeds and stalks (with less than 0.3 % THC), it is legal to buy, distribute and ship across state lines. (However, the exact law appears to be a little less explicit in documents such as the Farm Bill 2014). All in all, the reality remains that millions of people purchase and use CBD products every day of their lives , and with every passing day, this alternative is only becoming more frequent and widespread.

Indeed, CBD is a 100 per cent natural chemical compound from the cannabis plant. It is not made synthetically.

Not all types of marijuana bear CBD in their buds. But yes, there will be CBD in the stem and seeds in every cannabis plant (whether marijuana or hemp).

CO2 extraction is the best method for obtaining pure CBD isolate in which it exists as a crystal which is clear/white. This approach is compared to other methods because the end product leaves almost zero traces of chemical pollutants. Extraction of alcohol is another process in which a solvent such as ethanol, butane or hexane is passed through the raw plant material to remove CBD and then evaporated to leave only the active cannabinoid. This may be a risky procedure, as it is likely to leave in the extract excess traces of butane or hexane chemicals. Another effective method of extracting CBD is also to infuse vegetable oil (i.e., olive oil). All you do is grind the raw material of the plant, decarboxylate (heat) it and let it sit for about 2 hours in boiling oil (100-deg Celsius).

The drug’s only significant danger/side effect is in vaping CBD oils created using a thinning agent, including propylene glycol. Propylene glycol produces formaldehyde, a known carcinogen, when burned/vaped. CBD oils produced by CO2 extraction are much safer and purer than oils produced using liquid alcohol / thinning agents. Other than that, most research has established that with no known side effects, CBD is perfectly safe, although some users reported drowsiness, lightheadedness, low blood pressure and dry mouth.

Definitely! The CBD infused oils are great cooking product.

There have been thousands of scientific studies specifically on CBD.   Project CBD is a non-profit organization dedicated exclusively to tracking the progress of the trials on this incredible drug.

For several circumstances, CBD topics have been proven effective. Lots of people swear by them.

It is incredibly unlikely that a high-quality CBD product with limited THC would show up on a drug test. Low-quality CBD products, however, can contain more traces of THC than they say, in which case it is possible to pick up on the drug for a screening. (Research has shown that people who consume 6 mg of THC per day have a 25% risk of failing a drug test, which corresponds to approximately 2000 mg of CBD oil per day with a THC content of 0.3% or less).

This one is tricky because it depends, of course, on what you use the compound for, and how solid the substance is, too. Many people consume a minimum of between 10-50 mg of CBD per day. (For example, 1 mL of a potent oil could contain 50 mg of CBD. Make sure you read the product label to ensure proper serving.

To ensure the legality of purchasing CBD products online, you need to verify that the business you are buying from is legitimate and that the drug was made of industrial hemp with a content of less than 0.3 % THC. While transportation of marijuana across state lines (from legal to non-legal states) is against the law, transportation of products based on hemp and hemp is safe. Also, millions across the US (and the globe) use CBD products every day.
